Purpose

This website is intended to provide readers and scholars of Annie Dillard with lists of information, most of which has not been gathered anywhere else. My aim is to be as comprehensive, useful, and accurate as possible. Although I take advantage of Blogger's convenient template, this is not a blog; rather, this website collects scattered information from thousands of sources and presents it in an organized fashion, taking an exhaustive approach toward the study of an author, à la The Melville Log. This website is a book-length reference resource; if it were printed as a volume, it would be about 120 pages long. It has well over two thousand entries and draws from thousands of sources. I have put it together so that others will have a solid foundation for their research on the mind and art of this pillar of contemporary literature.

This website was created in July of 2004 and is updated when I discover new information (last updated on January 17, 2024).
