New book

Annie Dillard's new novel, The Maytrees, was released on June 12, 2007. It may be the last book she writes.

You can listen to Dillard read an excerpt here, listen to her discuss the novel with Scott Simon on Weekend Edition here, and find an interview with her on the book by clicking here.

The "only in-depth interview for this book" was published in The Washington Post.

Last Book?? O heartbreak.
Annie Dillard is my all-time favourite essayist. She has shoved me awake, expressed with power what I had only been able to feel, engaged me wholly soul and intellect, and made me want to write.
She's still young. Maybe just a 10 year rest is all she needs.
and thank you for compiling all this. A priceless resource.

Thank you for your list of Annie Dillard blurbs! What are the odds that Google would lead me here. I was desperately trying to remember a book that had an Annie review on the cover, and was pulling my hair out. Last Places: A Journey Up North! Yay!! I found it!! And Pilgrim at Tinker creek will always be on my short list of faves.
